跟贴：抱歉，我在倒数第二帖中误提了kevin的名字，也没有办法修改，请他老人家也高抬贵手，好了，这是我关于这个话题的最后一帖，是对Kevin在上海潜水人BBS上的跟帖的回帖，我不会在bjdivers或shanghaidivers再和人争论这个问题，去的人又不是我。最后讲一次，我只是作为一个普通潜友提自己的看法。
kevin在上海潜水人上的帖，又扯回“造谣”二字，我已经道歉再道歉，且本心无恶意。我还是谈我的看法：

好意毕竟是好意，大家也都明白，相信很多潜友都会花很多时间去研究世界各地的潜点，人家已经去过至少？次马尔代夫，你查来的资料怎么会有说服力，更何况“造谣”一词在很多人的认识（包括本人在内），都是很认真的。"

kevin, 我如果有工夫不会去和人争某个人有没有说服力，而是去找和潜伴把可能出现的状况都考虑清楚，不同的潜水方式：船宿潜水或度假村潜水，潜点的选择，即便是在同一个区域，同一个季节都有相当大的差异。我建议的关键只是你们带家属走，船宿的选择可以更慎重一点，但richard所说“环礁之内风平浪静，对那些不太适合一般外海风浪的夫人、家属们来讲较容易适应（甚至可以说非常舒适）”，这句肯定句用在马尔代夫船宿行程，比较容易发生歧义和误导。我们还是来看别人的潜水报告：

In January 2001 I have been on 8 days liveaboard on the Discovery-1, like all liveaboards in the Maldives the boat functions as a floating hotel and the diving is done from a diving Dhoni (local wooden boat) that hosts all the diving equipment and gets away from the main boat during compression of the tanks. The Discovery-1 is quite a luxuries and comfortable boat and the food like most food in the Maldives is based on fish. The liveaboard was done in North Male atoll, South Male Atoll and Felidho atoll, most dives were drift dives with very strong currents and some of the dives were against the current. Coral bleaching affected the top of most of the reefs and due to the strong current there aren't many big corals but the amount of fish, sharks, turtles, rays and other critters is amazing...”

we spot several white tip reef shark above and below us as we drift with the current lots of Tunas and Jacks we are holding to the reef and watching 5 eagle rays swimming against the strong current ignoring our presence a spectacular sight we continue to the channel corner and at 28m is the usual gathering of big white tip and gray reef sharks that ignore our presence and continue to mind there own business which is swimming with and against the current.

GENERAL OVERVIEW OF MALDIVIAN DIVING - In addition to miles of very profound wall diving on the outer edges of the various atolls, there are two basic types of diving specific to the Maldives, Tillas and Kandus. A Tilla is a submerged pinnacle or seamount, a large coral structure jutting up out of deeper water. Approaching within just a few feet of the surface, and reminiscent of the barely submerged reefs of the Red Sea, Tillas serve as magnets for fish life, offering haven for juvenile reef fish up through cruising jacks, tuna, sharks and rays. A Kandu is a cut or pass into the reef, where current and tidal changes produce enhanced coral growth, and a conglomeration of both reef fishes and pelagics such as sharks and eagle rays. Of necessity drift dives, we learned that Kandus are best dived on the incoming tide, when the water is an intense oceanic blue and visibility can well exceed 150 feet. Diving the Maldives often means diving in current. Currents are generally more pronounced January through March, and markedly less so at other seasons. As the drift dives can cover a considerable distance underwater, a safety sausage is essential equipment so that you can be found on the surface if you are separated from the group.
CURRENT DIVING - A major factor in Maldivian diving is the current itself. On some dives one can experience strong and unpredictable current action. A typical dive is to go outside the wall in blue water. Descend below 100 feet and drift with the current along the wall, watching for sharks, turtles, eagle rays, mantas, etc. Then come to a corner where a channel (kandu) cuts through the reef and goes inside the atoll. This is where the highest concentration of fish will be found. Hang out on that corner for a while, then let go and ride the current and incoming tide up the channel until it plays out inside the reef. It can be very exciting, but it can also be physically challenging...

既然您这么执著，咱也就奉陪到底吧。反正把事情说清楚也有助于各位潜友从中得益。
我认认真真地拜读了几遍您所引用的大量英文潜水报告（估计您还没来得及译成中文，好在咱也在讲英文的国家混了7、8年），但是非常遗憾，没有从中找出一处有关马尔代夫“浪大”的描述。不过文章中倒是多次提到“current (海流、水流、暗流)”、及“drift dive（顺流漂潜）”等：
“most dives were drift dives with very strong currents and some of the dives were against the current. ”
“as the currents are at their strongest and the waters particularly nutrient-rich”

所以实在搞不懂您大量引经据典是想支持您的哪个论点？
是“马尔代夫的海流current 很强”？还是“马尔代夫海域风大浪高”？
如果是前者，您就错了。如果是后者，对不起，您也错了！
因为“海流（或洋流、暗流 current)”、”与“浪wave”是两个不同的概念，二者并不等同。
由于潮汐、洋流于海底地形的原因，马尔代夫部分海域确实有很强的current (尤其在一月至三月之间，所以才会有著名的drift dive)，但通常只有下海的潜水员才能感受到其大小和强弱，留在母船（即文中提到的“浮动酒店 floating hotel”）上的家属或非潜水员一般感觉不出什么太大的不适。何况母船一般都停泊在环礁内平静的水域。换句话说，current很强时，不一定水面的浪就大！
这样讲绝非道听途说或是从什么报告里翻译出来的，更不是“造谣”，而是本人两次在Maldives潜水的亲身经历（一次是“十一”，一次是元旦，每次平均7日以上）。除非马尔代夫一年中仅有的两星期风平浪静的时候碰巧都让我们赶上了。
您说的很对：“人家已经去过至少？次马尔代夫，你查来的资料怎么会有说服力？”
严谨、科学的态度对于安全从事潜水活动是十分重要的，相信所有正在安排潜水行程的潜友们也都欢迎各方的关于旅行目的地的各种资讯，尤其是前辈们的经验。但盲目相信“资料”，就难免出现类似把Maldives搬到Andaman Sea这样的笑话，甚至会误人子弟，还不如保持沉默呢。

跟贴：离开才几天，想不到这里打起了“口水战”，呵呵！
对于各位讨论的话题，我没有发言权，因为马尔代夫我既没有潜过，也没有研究过，对于那里不同的季风方向更是一无所知。我只知道去年四月，我的一对朋友去那儿船潜过，那位老公不知如何被水流捉住，头朝下挂在了一片珊瑚礁上，珊瑚一直刺穿了他的湿衣，还在他的肚子上留了个洞。事后说起来虽然好笑，当时还是挺惊险的。
想说的是，潜水首先要保障安全，组织者要尽可能全面地搜集资料并了解队员，缺少经验的新手更是要多了解当地情况和自己的水平，宁可保守一些也不要太过冒险，这样才能充分享受潜海的乐趣。我想也正是基于此虑，大家才会有上面那么多的讨论。可是大家忘记了文字的杀伤力，特别是在我们既听不到对方的声音、也看不到对方的表情、而且对对方一无所知的情形下，所以笔下一定要特别留情，免得既伤了彼此的感情，又影响了坛子上自由发言的气氛，岂不是太可惜！
每个人的所知都是有限的，所以我们才需要交流，需要沟通。我们的目标不是为了一争高下，而是为了每个人都能尽可能全面地掌握信息，作出最好地决定，不是吗？

跟贴：据我的了解，whd喜欢以上海潜水界的老大自居，经常以自己的经验对别的潜水人进行说教，尽管出于好心，但是不讨人喜欢，所以由whd创办的上海潜水人网站基本已经无人光顾，就算有新人出没，也没人搭理。由此可见，大家对whd的性格为人有些看法，至少我是这样认为。（颇有不敬，请多担待，实在是不吐不快）。其实，潜水对大多数人来说就是一项休闲活动，没有谁是前辈后辈之分，重要是大家可以一起分享潜水的乐趣。我倒觉得大家对whd的反应颇正常，我在西巴丹潜水的时候，从当地潜水教练口中得到对其的反应如出一辙。恕我直言，我就不喜欢和以老大自居，动不动就以自己有多少经验来说教别人的潜水人打交道。经常在国外遇到潜过上千次的潜水人依然态度谦逊平和，鼓励像我这样的初学者勇于尝试，给予信心，分享经验，而不是显示自己的能力。
语气轻重可能会得罪人，但实不属和气生财之人，请多包涵。
