主题：想去塞舌儿群岛潜水？罢！

本打算年末或来年组织塞舌尔潜水。看过下面的文章后，恐怕没人响应了吧？
Anyone thinking of scuba diving in the Seychelles then be aware that as a holiday destination it is paradise but for coral diving it is an unmitigated disaster. All the coral is dead due to a sea temperature rise caused by El Nino in the late nineties. I mean ALL the coral. Some regeneration is starting but in percentage terms we are talking single figures of regeneration. The fish populations are less effected and you can find pockets of massive fish populations in spots like; Anse Soleil - unfortunately no dive boats go here but you can drive there and snorkel, and also at Port Launay, which is part of the Marine Park.
大意：塞舌尔是个度假天堂；但对于珊瑚潜水而言，塞舌尔是十足的灾难。由于九十年代末的厄尔尼诺导致海水升温，所有的珊瑚都死光了，我是指“所有”珊瑚。有一些再生珊瑚，但数量稀少。鱼类受影响不大，在一些潜水点仍可看到大群的鱼。
For visitors the exchange controls imposed in June 2001 mean that everything is exhorbitantly expensive. The boat trip between Mahe and Praslin is $66 return whereas locals pay less than a third for the same trip! You are forced to settle accommodation, car hire and meals at restaurants attached to a hotel, in foreign currency (either cash or credit card). This makes the Seychelles REALLY expensive. Tourism is dropping dramatically as a result. If you want empty beaches and can afford it then the Seychelles is for you!
2001年6月出台新的外汇管制条例，对外国游客意味着什么都巨贵。从Mahe岛到Praslin岛往返需要66美元，而当地人只付不足其三分之一！况且您在酒店及其附属的餐厅和租车的开销都必须支付外币，塞舌尔真是昂贵。结果，旅游业大幅度滑坡。如果你想游览空荡荡的海滩，而且你大款，那么塞舌尔正合您胃口！

跟贴：没啥奇怪，当年我们还不是一样，什么都是分外宾价和内宾价。
那里和马尔代夫应该都是有钱的欧洲人去的地方，就是为了宰老外的，当地人都是过田园（鱼园）生活，而且不让游客参观。

东南亚就挺好，尤其是泰国，强力推荐

这里是我唯一听说过持续多年给whale shark 作identification tag和tracking的地方，
目前已经有70条whale shark作过标签， 从96年起观测超过230条次，最多一次在
micro-light aircraft上观测到49只个体，
这个项目目前有开放volunteer program, 在8月份也有几条liveaboard开放商业性的whale shark潜水行程.

从出现频次来讲，应该不逊色给philippine的donsol及australia的ningaloo.但上两个地方禁止和whale shark scuba diving啊

跟贴：还有还有，肯尼亚也很棒的，这次去潜水碰到一个教tech diving的instructor，他以前在肯尼亚潜过，说那里美的不得了。作safety stop的时候，海豚和你一起嬉戏，5分钟的safety stop就无限延长了.......

在塞舌尔与鲸鲨相遇的几率有多大？

Collision with a whale shark!
On the 16th February 2003, the high speed vessel La Creole limped back to Mahé for repairs after a collision with a Whale shark near Praslin. According to Travel Services Seychelles (TSS) who operate La Creole, the vessel was replacing Cat Cocos, the regular ferry service between Mahé and Praslin, which was undergoing routine maintenance.
The boat suffered slight damage (a hole approximately four inches in diameter in its fibreglass hull) and was temporarily taken out of service for repairs, suspending the regular boat service between Mahé and Praslin.
In an interview with Seychelles Nation, Mr Hugh Hoareau of TSS Marine Services said “we were travelling quite fast and were due to arrive on Praslin in 15 minutes when the coxswain noticed three whale sharks in our course. He swerved and successfully avoided them but apparently there was a fourth fish below the water surface”. Passengers on board, including Mr Hoareau, commented that it felt “as though we had beached”. None of the 20 passengers on board sustained any injuries.
The whale shark however, wasn’t so lucky. Mr Hoareau said that there was blood in the water behind the vessel and that the partly submerged 8m shark was seen swimming way. The blood appeared to be flowing from a wound on its back. The extent of injuries sustained by the whale shark is unclear. The 3 other sharks were unaffected by the incident and continued to swim at the surface.
This is the first ever reported collision incident between a vessel and a whale shark in Seychelles. However, Seychelles cannot claim fame for this isolated incidence as there are a number of reports dating back to 1932 of similar occurrence in the north western Indian Ocean region. In fact, according to E.W Grudger (1938), more whale sharks have been rammed by steamers in the Red Sea region than in any other part of the world.

跟贴：打击一下，谁吃饱撑着8月份鲸鲨季有二周以上的大假，
塞舌儿+肯尼亚...就算是indian ocean pass也没有包括这样的package.
如果真的要走，考虑一下十月份Seychelles+Mauritius或者是Mauritius+Madagascar，通过香港或新加坡中转比较现实
